You'll hit the ground running

After a quick review of techniques learned during the previous course you'll be able to spend a lot more time on:

  • Aluminium MIG Welding techniques as used in the boat building Industry
  • Stainless Steel TIG Welding for the Dairy Industry (AS/NZS2980 Appendix F)
  • ASME IX Pipe Welding
  • Marking out of Steel and development work
  • Fabrication Skills

National Unit Standards and Welding Ticket
The Unit Standards covered will give you an additional 77 credits from the Qualifications Framework. The total number of credits gained will set you well on the way towards a Trade Certificate Qualification.

On successful completion of your course unit standards, and free of charge, you may be considered to sit one or more industry-recognised welding tickets at the discretion of the Head Welding Tutor. The selection of tickets is as follows:

  • AS/NZS2980
  • AS/NZS2980 Appendix F
  • AS/NZS1665
  • ASME IX
  • API 1104

How you can enrol
If you have completed the Certificate in Welding and Fabrication Skills course with us, or have equivalent unit standards, or relevant industry experience come to one of our sites and talk with the Advanced Tutor.  We have all the required student loan and allowance application forms, and will assist you in preparing your application.

You can get finance for your studies
The government funded student loan and allowance scheme is available to qualifying students to pay course fees and living expenses (NZ permanent residents and citizens only). We will assist you in preparing and submitting your application forms.
